GoCary has recently installed solar-powered lights at 35 additional bus stop locations, further advancing its commitment to safe and sustainable transit. Building on the success of previous installations, these new lights are designed to improve visibility and enhance the rider experience at bus stops, particularly in low-light areas.
The fully solar-powered lights operate in a dimmed mode and brighten when a button is pressed, effectively illuminating the landing pad and information panel where passengers wait. A red notification light is also activated when the button is pressed, signaling to bus drivers that passengers are waiting.
This initiative reflects GoCary’s dedication to providing a safe, comfortable, and eco-friendly transit experience. The team will continue evaluating bus stops for additional solar lighting installations to further enhance convenience and accessibility for all riders.
