Additional Information

Connecting Cycling and Transit for a Healthier Community

May Bike Month

May is National Bike Month—a nationwide celebration of the many benefits of bicycling for our health, the environment, and our communities. Established in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists, Bike Month encourages people of all ages to embrace cycling as a fun, affordable, and sustainable mode of transportation. Throughout the month, communities across the country participate in events like group rides, bike-to-work days, safety workshops, and educational initiatives to promote active transportation and safe biking practices.

GoCary is proud to support Bike Month by highlighting the seamless connection between biking and transit. Did you know all GoCary buses are equipped with front-mounted bike racks? This means you can easily combine biking with your bus commute—whether you’re heading to work, exploring one of Cary’s greenways, or visiting a local park.

Bike Month is the perfect time to try something new, embrace a healthier lifestyle, and experience the freedom and joy of cycling—made even easier when paired with fare-free GoCary transit.

GoCary serves 10 parks throughout Cary and offers convenient connections to the town’s extensive greenway network. With our GoCary Explorer Tool, you can plan your route and discover how to ride the bus to parks and greenways near you:
