GoCary’s Partnership with ACCESS Cary and GiGi’s Playhouse

GoCary partnered with ACCESS Cary and GiGi’s Playhouse to deliver an engaging, hands-on transit education experience designed to build confidence and independence among participants.
The group took part in an interactive informational session where they explored GoCary’s bus routes, learned how to navigate the GoCary app, and discovered additional transit options available throughout Wake County.
The experience continued with a guided group trip, where participants put their new skills into practice by traveling from the Dog Park bus stop via the Downtown Loop to the Page-Walker Arts & History Center for a private tour. At the Cary Depot, participants also gained a first-hand look at how GoCary connects with regional transit providers, including Amtrak and GoTriangle.
Participants also had the unique opportunity to visit Cary Town Hall—for many, their first time inside—where they toured the council chambers and learned more about local government in action.
For the return journey, the group rode Route 5 Kildaire Farm back to Downtown Cary Park. Throughout the trip, participants had the opportunity to track their bus in real time and locate bus stops using the GoCary app.
As part of the experience, attendees also had the opportunity to sign and send messages of appreciation to transit staff in recognition of Transit Appreciation Day, adding a meaningful and personal touch to the day’s activities.
GoCary is proud to continue building partnerships that educate, engage, and encourage the community to use transit to access the places and opportunities that matter most.
