What began in 2001 as C-Tran, providing Door to Door transportation for seniors and people with disabilities, has grown into a comprehensive transit system connecting residents, employees, students, families, businesses, and visitors throughout Cary and our neighboring communities.
Over the past 25 years, GoCary has continued to evolve alongside the community we proudly serve. From our first Door to Door trips and five-route fixed-route system to today's growing network and regional connections, every milestone has been made possible through the support, dedication, and partnership of our community.
At the heart of everything we do is service. Providing safe, clean, reliable, and efficient transportation - and responding to the changing needs of our community - will always be our highest priority.
We are incredibly grateful for the thousands of riders who choose GoCary every day. Whether you ride with us to work, school, a medical appointment, a community event, a favorite destination, or simply to explore Cary, you are the reason we are here. Our riders inspire us to continue improving, listening, and finding new ways to make transit better for everyone.
We are equally grateful for the dedicated GoCary team and all of the people behind the scenes who make each trip possible. From our operators and maintenance teams to our planners, customer service staff, outreach teams, and community partners, it takes an entire team working together to deliver the service our community deserves.
Our success has also been built through strong partnerships. Over the years, GoCary has had the privilege of working alongside organizations and agencies throughout the region, including GoTriangle, GoRaleigh, GoApex, NCSU, the Morrisville Smart Shuttle, GoWake Access, and many other community organizations and partners. These partnerships help us create stronger connections and make it easier for people to travel throughout Cary and across the Triangle.
And our journey is far from over.
As Cary continues to grow, GoCary is excited to grow with it. New transit investments, including an operations and maintenance facility, a new multimodal center in downtown Cary, and future Bus Rapid Transit connections represent an exciting next chapter for public transportation in our community.
We look forward to continuing to connect people to the places that matter most - and to welcoming new riders, visitors, partners, and community members along the way.
