CARY INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE
TRANSIT APPRECIATION DAY ON MARCH 18
GoCary is proud to celebrate Transit Appreciation Day on March 18, a special opportunity to recognize the dedicated transit operators and staff who keep Cary moving safely, reliably, and efficiently every day.
From early morning routes to afternoon commutes, GoCary’s transit professionals connect residents to work, school, medical appointments, and community activities. Transit Appreciation Day is a meaningful reminder that a simple “thank you” can make a lasting impact.
How the Community Can Participate
There are several ways residents can join in celebrating GoCary’s team:
✅ Say “thank you” in person – A kind word goes a long way. If you’re riding with GoCary or passing through the Cary Depot, take a moment to thank your driver or transit staff member for their service.
✅ Sign a Thank You Banner – Community members can sign and write messages on appreciation banners available Thursday, February 3 through March 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at:
- Town Hall
- Cary Senior Center
These banners will be presented to GoCary drivers and staff as part of the Transit Appreciation Day celebration.
✅ Join Us at the Cary Depot – Residents are also invited to a special banner signing event at the Cary Depot on Thursday, March 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This drop-in opportunity allows community members to sign the official Transit Appreciation Day banner and share a message of gratitude in person.
✅ Send a message of appreciation – Share a thank-you note or shoutout by emailing BetterTransit@GoCary.org.
✅ Engage on social media – Tag GoCary on Facebook or Instagram (@GoCaryNC) and recognize a driver or team member who made your trip better. Help us spread awareness and gratitude across the community.
Create and Share Your Own Appreciation Message
Community members are also encouraged to get creative. Click this link to access a Canva template and design your own Transit Appreciation graphic. Download your design to share on social media or print it to give directly to your favorite transit staff member. Add a photo, write a personal message, and help make this year’s celebration especially meaningful.
Transit Appreciation Day is more than a single day of recognition — it reflects the year-round dedication, professionalism, and care demonstrated by GoCary’s transit team. Community participation helps ensure our staff feel valued and supported for the essential service they provide.
